A Derma Roller, also known as a micro-needling device, is a simple tool with many small needles. These needles are typically 0.5 mm deep and are used to create tiny pores on the skin surface.
Don’t worry—the needle depth is safe for home use without requiring a dermatologist’s consultation.
When you roll the derma roller over your skin, it creates micro-injuries. These tiny punctures stimulate the skin’s natural healing process.
Neocollagenesis: New collagen tissues form under the skin, improving skin texture and elasticity.
Neovascularization: New blood vessels and capillaries develop due to the needle piercing, enhancing blood flow and nutrient delivery.
Derma rollers come in various needle sizes, ranging from 0.2mm to 3mm. For hair loss treatment, use 0.25 mm twice a week, and 0.5 mm once a week. Opt for stainless steel or titanium needles (titanium is more durable)
Disinfect the derma roller by soaking it in 70% isopropyl alcohol.Dettol can be used as a substitute for isopropyl alcohol.Dettol Antiseptic Liquid is Chloroxylenol, it also contains Pine Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Caustic Soda Solution, Castor Oil, Caramel, and Water.
Never use someone else’s derma roller, and maintain hygiene and safety. Sharing increases the risk of spreading infections, including rare ones like HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
Place the derma roller on the receding hairline or any bald patch.Roll it 6-10 times in all directions (vertically and horizontally) to cover the entire area. Aim for consistent coverage, rolling each stroke over approximately 1 square inch.
After using the derma roller, the treated area may show redness, which is normal. Some swelling or warmth may also occur temporarily.
If irritation persists, consult a dermatologist promptly.
After derma rolling, apply the onion oil. Gently massage it into the scalp using your fingertips. This combination improves circulation and helps stimulate hair follicles, leading to new hair growth.
